Hoerr Family
I was very pleased to see this session come together! Tania and I worked hard choosing the perfect colors and clothing to incorporate their style. Measuring walls and complementing colors with her home, It really wasn't hard to find flattering pieces for this beautiful family! A few items from their own closets and a few outfits I hunted down to coordinate. We decided to shoot their session at the scenic Murphy Farm that's been in their family for years, a perfect location! Hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed the process to get here!

I felt an instant kindred spirit in her as she vividly described her life. Her wild curls bounced playfully as she divulged the details of traveling through the exotic locations of Spain and India. I was enthralled by her adventures and the life I dreamed about someday having. I pictured her diving into vintage shops and walking away with her unique treasures, drinking soda from throwback glass-bottles while creating her own sense of fashion. Squeals of delight only grew louder at the mention of our shared love of Top Shop and Mumford and Sons. I was ecstatic to work with this girl!

Ewing Manor
The grounds of the manor were littered with photographers trying to take advantage of what seemed to be the most beautiful day of October. My only advice to our group was, "try to be as obnoxious as possible and maybe they'll give us some space." Of course this didn't work. I realized then photographers are some of the boldest types of people I know. Threats of jail and large fines don't scare us. We're not afraid of the kind of weather that would keep a postman indoors. Did I mention ferocious pets, heights, poison ivy? Nah, put a camera in a person's hand and they begin to think they're invincible! Here's what else is invincible... Hilary's style! I happily added her to my list of fashion bloggers (which I follow daily) as soon as she launched her blog, Nussbaum Fashion, late this summer. I love how she has been sharing her favorite styling tips and affordable outfits, not to mention where to find them! I am thrilled to be photographing you (and your family) once again, especially since it will be contributing to the fashion sense of the MIdwest!
