Caitlin, Ashley and I joined forces one last time to photograph another important part of their life- running. They both had done their research and when we initially met to create a vision for their session they brought in clipped magazine ads from Runners World. If there is one thing I can't get enough of it's gathering inspiration! My work space is ALWAYS littered with bits of photos, colors and writing that I find inspirational. How terrific to have collaborated with you both! Thank you for choosing me to document your life in this way, it was truly an honor!

Ashley and Caitlin share many loves. It was hard for me to miss the flash of excitement that came over their faces when our conversation turned towards ice cream. There were no doubts that including their favorite treat was a MUST. Now my newest dilemma was to decide which local ice cream shop to shoot at. I did the only thing any reasonable girl would do in such a situation- I sampled ice cream!! (I'm convinced ice cream aides my creativity... and please don't tell me otherwise!) We were incredibly lucky to find that Sweet CeCe's opened late this summer. The owners are so fabulous!! I can't even count all the sweet things they did to make the girls' images flawless, thank you!!

Thoughtful, calculated and a well spoken communicator, Caitlin had won me over before we even met. She and Ashley both have a distinct charm and charisma that translated well into photos. Each girl has a slightly different view of fashion and how it suits them. I love this because it means each portion of their session took on a new style and setting, which captured the different facets of their personalities. Wanting to highlight her elegance and ladylike poise, the Botanical Gardens seemed to be a complimentary fit. We even talked Ashley into posing in the last few shots which are some of my favorites.

I've been rather obsessively scanning the internet for the perfect boots. Not too masculine, not too tall, the perfect shade... ect. So when Dave surprised me and wanted to go shopping last night at Fashion Square I didn't complain. I should have jumped at the chance to snag these boots last season and I didn't, a decision I have been regretting. I was pleased to find Nordstrom's had one pair left... IN MY SIZE!! I did a little happy dance right there in front of the sales clerk and my husband who was trying to act like he didn't know me. (It was pretty obvious we were together when I asked for his credit card a few minutes later).

We flew into Phoenix Thursday morning. It was bright and 72 degrees by 10:15a.m. when we landed. Both of us trying to balance feelings of excitement and apprehension as we grabbed our luggage. Only two things on our minds, Dave's interview on Friday at ATSU and finding coffee. (We had rolled out of bed at 4a.m. to narrowly make our flight on time.)
