The first 30 hours of our road trip: Kentucky horse farms North of Lexington, country side through the picturesque, rolling hills of Pennsylvania and then Connecticut shores before rolling into Rhode Island. Whew, I'll sleep when we're home again! Laura

These girls are into details. That's probably why I enjoyed styling them so much! We planned each session around specific locations and invested hours and hours tweaking their wardrobes to accentuate all their favorite things. No detail was left unnoticed by the twins, we even made sure to pick up a fresh loaf of bread for Ashley's session at the - Farmers Market and incorporated flowers through Caitlin's J.Crew belt she wore at the - Botanical Gardens. Also on their list of styling must-haves, bright colors and whimsical girly outfits for - Sweet CeCe's Ice Cream Shop as well as - Cross Country Running on a deserted country road.

I'll admit, I've always been lucky. When I moved to Paris, TN I really didn't expect to find such an inspiring friend. Kelly is the chameleon of style, with a different category for each day of the week. We take turns pushing each other beyond our "fashion comforts" and often its on to the uneven ground at the cusp of fashion or the edge of a stylish fail. We both seem to find this exhilarating. Between the afternoon rain that rolled into town last Thursday and Dave and I rolling out for Easter Holiday, Kelly and I snapped a few shots. Her floaty white dress and curls received more then one person's attention. She didn't even seem to notice though and shrugged off her admirers. How chic.
I haven't known her long and struggled to find the best way to describe Kelly. I realized quickly it would take a list to properly introduce her. So here goes...
She's loyal to a fault. Her mind is a playground for DIY projects. Quitting only happens once she's given 200%. Sephora is therapeutic to her. She practices the three R's, reading, running and researching. Shopping, she thinks, should be considered a competitive sport. Spoiling her nieces comes naturally. High heels are her first love. According to her sushi is one of the five major food groups. She wants to marry a man like her Daddy. Her closet is P.E.R.F.E.C.T. Broccoli is just wrong unless her Momma made it. When she loves she loves hard. A dinner party is like heaven to her. She adores her two sisters. If she had a date for Kentucky Derby she would go, if only to drink mint juleps and wear a big hat.
So, apparently I know her well and am happy to call her my friend. xo -L

I've been extremely lazy this weekend and accomplished next to nothing. Some of my family visited the lake and I cut out for a few days to enjoy with them. However, my taxes are still in a pile glaring at me from the edge of my desk and I'm swimming in a overflowing yet colorful pool of design work. As you can imagine designing is a million times more enjoyable then book work. I've made a promise not to allow myself to sleep until this unsightly pile has been removed from the sacred area I call my desk. Hope you are happy IRS, I'm almost finished! Since my head is full of numbers I decided to balance things out by posting a few of the designs I've been working on. Check out Maggie's grad invites inspired by her love of fashion. Her color palette reflects her images as well as this season's runway colors and is paired with a classic font that reminded me of the roaring 20's.
